KIKAY is a slow fashion and podcast platform that places truth over image

about

Hip-hop was never meant to be about violence, status, or superficial wealth. It was created as a way to survive, to be remembered, and to speak your truth when there was nowhere else to go.

To us, hip-hop is not a stereotype. Wearing chains isn’t hip-hop. Using violence isn’t hip-hop. Excessive drinking and addiction aren’t hip-hop. Hip-hop didn’t start by telling the world how much money you made, how many women you could sleep with, or how many friends you had. Hip-hop started as a space where people could tell their stories without being judged, without being labeled, and without being denied or silenced.

That’s hip-hop. Whether through fashion, dance or music, it has always been about the truth, their truth. Hip-hop isn’t violence, it is peace.

This is the original essence of hip-hop that our brand stands for. We don’t stand with the stereotypes people hold onto just because they sell. We are KIKAY, a brand that tells its truth and celebrates those who live in theirs.

We ask you to tell your story without a mask, without a façade, without perfect grammar, without the right outfit or political view, without anything society considers normal or acceptable. We ask you to simply be you.

We believe hip-hop does not make the truth harder. It makes it human.

LOGO: THOUGHT PROCESS & MEANING

Thought proces:

We’re told what should fit and what shouldn’t. Different cultures, beliefs, people, and emotions. We challenge that idea. Beneath it all, we share the same foundation. The same bones. The same human core. This logo is a reminder to stop dividing and start seeing what connects us, instead of what makes us feel superior to other cultures, belief systems, ways of speaking, or ways of living. Instead of telling people what would make them normal, accepted and or respected, KIKAY believes that the world should choose to connect through our differences and understand that those differences are what make us exactly the same.

Meaning:

The “Circle of Life” logo symbolizes the diverse spectrum of human identity and sexuality. The design incorporates elements representing the anatomy of men, women, and intersex individuals, embracing people of all genders, orientations, and sexualities. The encompassing circle and cross unite humanity, transcending differences in religion, mindsets, race, and size. The red border honors the influence of Hip-Hop culture, which is deeply integrated into the brand.
